Such a thrilling fantasy about a dragon transforming into a human girl. And did I mention all the hot chocolate recipes - mouthwatering. I could not put this one down.

Aventurine is one naughty dragon hatchling. When she tries to prove to her family that she is old enough to hunt alone, she meets a human food mage who turns her into a human girl. Alone and in a body she doesn't like, Aventurine has to survive among humans. But at least she has chocolate.
"You roll the nibs until they form a paste and then you just keep on rolling with all your might until not a single fraction of a bump, not a fragment of a shard of roughness can even be remembered by it. In this chocolate house you never stop until you've achieved perfection."
A tale about bravery Aventurine proves to be a very brave girl determined to follow her passion, once she has discovered it. She is a very strange human, but she is honest and hardworking. In this way she makes some very good friends and she starts to understand humans, at least a little bit. And it is also a book about families and siblings, and respect.
I loved the way Stephanie Burgis weaves the story leaving you always waiting for more. The language is very vivid and colourful. It takes you directly to Drachenburg and brings the smell of chocolate. Above all, I like the many courageousand skillful girls and women who populate this fantasy tale.
"One dense, crumbly cake of chocolate. Two round spoonfuls of ground sugar, water, milk ... a touch of cinnamon, a taste of vanilla, a breath of cloves, and for the final touch ... a solid pinch of dried chilli pepper into the kettle..."
I am writing this review on the World Dragon Day - no better way to celebrate. And if you like the story don't forget to look for the sequence, The Girl with a Dragon Heart - I know I will.
Very interesting book. I am tempted to read the sequel.
