Can you imagine practicing math while reading an interesting story. Well, with this book you can.

Evan and Jessie are siblings. Evan is ten and Jessie is eight years old. But they will both start fourth grade after the summer break. That is because Jessie is very good with numbers. But she diesn't have a lot of friends. Evan strugles with numbers but has many friends who are willing to help him. Together they are a great team because they complement each other. However, they stop communicating their feelings honestly and start quarreling. That is the beginning of the lemonade war.

A great book if you want to learn more about how to start and develop your business, be it lemonade stand or something else.

All the chapters in this book start with a definition of an economic term. And there is a lot more to learn throughout the book about franchise, calculating sales, expences, profit margins, profit and loss statement, etc. There are examples of calculations, charts and graphs. And there are also useful tips about employee appreciation, value-added and goodwill.

By the end of the lemonade war Evan discovers that he can solve word problems without anyones help, and Jessie creates a meaningful friendship. They also figure out that they love each other more than money or anything else.

Although I do not have a sibling myself I could learn so much from this book about communication, making friends and being enterpreneurial. I just hope Scott Spencer gets his punishment for stealing the money from Evan. I'll have to read the second book of the series to find out.
