Lost at sea Michael finds himself on a deserted island but he is not alone.

Being sailor myself I enjoyed reading about the family taking a boat trip around the world. Life on the sea is so well described that even someone without sailing experience can learn so much about the parts of the boat, how it functions, and how to prepare for a long trip.
This one, as many of Michael Morpurgo's books, evokes memories of the Second World War, on one hand, and the love of animals, on the other.
A story with a twist
Everything changes when Michael goes over board. He is washed ashore a seemingly deserted island. But Michael soon discovers that he is not alone.Someone is helping him survive. He soon learns the whole story of his unusual host.
"Life must not be spent always hoping, always waiting. Life is for living."
The book is both sad and happy at the same time. Last year, I watched a theater play based on one of Michael Morpurgo's book - I Believe in Unicorns - and I imediately fell in love with it. Although this story is very different and is about an adventure at sea, it is equaly interesting.
